MBSC Golf Program

The MBSC Nike Golf Program at Curry College offers the finest facilities, staff, program, and a superior instructional method that will bring your GOLF game to another level. Coined by a camper as “the everything camp,” MBSC provides its own unique teaching method that effectively covers every aspect of the game, offers a variety of fun off-course activities, and attracts campers from all over the world.

MBSC Golf Camp is a part of the Offense Defense Tennis Camp family that has existed for 30 years. To avoid the confusion of having different company names for each different sport, we have renamed all of our sports as MB Sports Camps.

CURRY COLLEGE

The MBSC Nike Golf Camp is held at Curry College, in Milton, MA. Its outstanding facilities include eleven outdoor courts, grass and Astroturf sports fields, softball fields, batting cage, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, outdoor swimming pool, new air conditioned dorms, and a wonderful new dining facility. Curry College is also one of the few gated colleges and all of our dorms are air conditioned. MB Sports Camps will have exclusive use of these state of the art facilities.

Curry College is only seven miles south of Boston, making it a great location for our campers. We are tucked away next to the scenic Blue Hills Reservation, yet we are close enough to Boston to make our evening activities a short drive away. Lead Instructor
We are proud to have Patricia Gonzalez as our Golf Head Pro. Patricia has been with MBSC since we started the golf program in 2006. Originally from Armenia, Colombia, Patricia started playing golf at age 15. Played in the Colombian National Team from 1978 to 1985 and winner of the major amateur tournaments in Colombia . Played collegiate golf at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and majored in business marketing. Won the 1982 AIAW All State Tournament as a freshman and also the 1985 SWC Championship Individual & Team as a senior.

Turned professional in 1986 and was Rookie of the Year in the European LPGA. Her career low round was 65. She is a member of the English and Colombian PGA since 1987. She has worked in England, USA and Colombia and has been with Jim McLean Golf School since 2002.

Lead Instructor
Originally from Stow, MA, Adam Kolloff is the owner of Scratch Golf School in
Wellinton, FL. Adam is a PGTAA Certified Teaching Professional, Former All
New England High School Champion, Former Division 1 Scholarship Athlete, a Gateway Tour Member and a Minor League Golf Tour Member.

Golf Courses

The Nike Golf Camp at Curry College takes its golfers to local area courses for course play. We make an effort to visit at least 3 different golf courses per week. With the large number of 18-hole courses within a 10 mile radius, there are several options.

Some of our camper favorites are:

Old Scotland Links: Founded in 1997, Old Scotland Links is an 18 hole links-style championship public course designed for both strategy and playability. With five sets of tees OSL plays from just under 5,000 yards to nearly 6,800 yards. OSL is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

River Bend Country Club: Opened May 1999 River Bend Country Club is a golf course with a split personality. The front nine is wide open and plays along the Town River with water, hazards and wind affecting every hole. The back nine plays through tree-lined fairways that are reminiscent of the Carolinas which makes for an interesting round of golf. There are bent grass tees, greens and fairways.

Granite Links Golf Club: Granite Links is a “Top Ten Best New Upscale Golf Course in the Country” as voted by Golf Digest. 27 challenging holes of links style golf offer the most scenic vistas anywhere, including breathtaking views of Boston’s skyline to the North, the Harbor Islands to the South and East, and the densely forested backdrop of the Blue Hills Reservation to the West.

Unlimited golf balls for instruction, lecture rooms, golf movies, and other innovative golf teaching devices will be available to all campers.

The Nike Factor:

Even though our golf camp has an 80% camper return rate, we still felt that we could do better! We have accomplished this by joining forces with NIKE GOLF CAMPS (US SPORTS CAMPS).

Nike is just not another brand...Nike is a whole way of thinking.

Nike Golf Camps set the bar high when it comes to all aspects of camp: from teaching methods & hiring staff to the registration process and check in procedures. MORALS/ VALUES:

MBSC's Golf Camp at Curry College is primarily concerned that each student be treated as a person of integrity and worth, and that values that he develops on a golf course be carried into his daily life. Sportsmanship, gamesmanship, tolerance for hard work, and enthusiasm for playing the game can be instilled in all students regardless of physical talents. Swearing, temper tantrums, and similar negative behavior will not be tolerated. All students can become champions - as sensitive, productive, distinctive individuals. Some will even become champions on the course. Our motto is...enter the Nike Golf Camp at Curry College to become a good golfer and even finer lady and gentleman!

Beginner to Tournament (Players 8-18)

Classes are programmed for three different proficiency levels: beginners, intermediates and advanced players of all ages. Each student will be tested weekly and placed in a group of 5 of similar ability, and age. Beginners will be playing golf in just a few days; intermediates will improve all aspects of their game; and advanced players will sharpen their game to a competitive edge. Program For Tournament Players (8-18 years) Our intensified program for aspiring Tournament Players is ideal for competitive players who presently play or wish to try out for their high school or pre-high school team. Players must have at least 1-3 years of golf experience. Players will be evaluated to see if they qualify.

Superior Supervision!

We have two separate staff for double the supervision! Coaches are not required to watch campers during non-sport hours and are therefore able to rest and give 100% effort everyday. Their counselor staff have been hired to watch campers during all non-sport hours and field trips!

Camp Details:

Check-in will take place between 12:00-2:00 pm at Curry College for Overnight campers and from 2:00-2:30 pm for Extended Day Campers on Sunday. Camp ends on Friday at 4:30pm.

Other activities include ping pong, softball, basketball, soccer, movies, concerts, historical sites, Harvard square, and Quincy market. All off-campus trips are at a minimal cost on a purely non-compulsory nature.

The Overnight fee includes all golf instruction, green fees, evening activities, housing and all meals. The Extended Day fee includes all of the above except housing and breakfast. Extended Day campers may participate in the evening activities.
