What kind of camp is MB Sports Camp?
MBSC are Intensive Training Camps. They are designed for the dedicated young athlete. That being said, we accept all levels of campers (Beginners to Nationally Ranked Players). The Sports Programs are designed so that no matter what the child’s level, they will be placed in an appropriate group that challenges them and helps them reach their goals!
What is the history of MB Sports Camps?
MB Sports Camps beginnings come from a Tennis Camp. The Tennis Camp started in 1969 by the Meshken family. The Meshkens ran the camp successfully until 1995 when they sold the Tennis portion to the current owner of MB Sports Camps, Mehdi Belhassan. However, prior to selling the camp, Mehdi had been involved with coaching the Tennis Program since 1988.
Since 1995, MB Sports Camps has expanded to include 9 sports and 2 locations all under the Direction of Mehdi Belhassan.
Mehdi played tennis at the highest level, representing his country, Morocco for several years. He came to the US to play tennis at a collegiate level and had a very successful run at Franklin Pierce College until he injured his knee. Mehdi was inducted into the Franklin Pierce Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements there.
Even after Mehdi was injured he wanted to continue is love for the game by continuing to coach, and when the opportunity came to purchase the camp, it was a perfect fit.
