The Language + Cultural Program

Locations:  The Stonehill College Campus is dedicated to the International Camper.  We have one option at Stonehill:  Language + Cultural Immersion Option

This year we are offering a fantastic summer camp for international students, in partnership with the Lewis School of English. Students receive 15 hours of English lessons per week, plus a full programme of sports and social activities. Excursions include two half-day trips to Boston per week and one full-day trip per week to a nearby attraction such as Six Flags Theme Park or whale watching. A weekend in New York is also available at additional cost.

Established in 1976, the Lewis School of English is an accredited provider of language courses and a member of Quality English. Our dedicated team are ready to provide an unforgettable summer of fun and learning!

Location Information:  Stonehill College

Founded in 1948, Stonehill College is a higher education institution located on a beautiful 375-acre campus in Easton, MA, less than 50km from the centre of Boston. It is an ideal base from which to explore New England and its fascinating principal city that is home to Harvard University and the Boston Red Sox. There is also the option to extend your stay with a visit to New York and Washington DC.

Placement & Levels

On their first day, students are given an oral and written placement test and are placed in a suitable class. During their stay, we monitor students’ progress and they have the opportunity to move to a different class if we feel it would be beneficial. Classes are offered at all levels from Beginner to Advanced, with levels corresponding to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Trinity exams can be arranged on request

Our aim is to provide an exciting mix of things to do, and our skilled activities staff are selected with this in mind. Whatever the activity, we offer our students a safe and stimulating environment where they can activate their English, and most of all, have fun!

Program Includes

• 1 Full Day Trip per week

• Daytime activities such as sports, games and creative workshops
• Evening activities such as discos, films, and quiz/games evenings

NEW YORK WEEKEND (optional)

Day 1 – Travel to New York, afternoon sightseeing tour by coach, hotel check-in (3-star) and Empire State Building visit

Day 2 – Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour followed by free time

Day 3 – Free time in the morning. Afternoon: transfer to airport.

New York Weekend includes:

• Coach travel

• Tour Director

• 2 nights in 3-star hotel accommodation in Manhattan, NY

• 2 light continental breakfasts at the hotel or a local restaurant

• Entrance ticket to the Empire State Building

• 4-hour guided sightseeing tour

• Entrance ticket to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry
